Competition Pool Shutdown

April 22 - May 12
The Competition Pool will be closed from April 22 - May 12 for scheduled maintenance. During this time, multiple contractors will be working simultaneously to install a new HVAC System to improve air quality and repair the damage to the Competition Pool roof and facade that incurred during a previous storm. Additionally, we will also be draining the pool, cleaning, and painting as part of our yearly maintenance so as to not close the pool for a second time during the Summer. We must close for the safety of the workers, staff and our customers.
We appreciate your understanding and value your continued support of the Whitin Community Center. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and have identified and secured other alternative options for your swimming needs. Please view the PDF below or contact the Member Services Desk or visit our website for details and accommodations.

Children's Dental Health Month

February 1st-February 28th
The February 2019 National Children's Dental Health Month is brought to you by the ADA. This month-long national health observance brings together thousands of dedicated professionals, healthcare providers, and educators to promote the benefits of good oral health to children, their caregivers, teachers and many others. This year's NCDHM campaign slogan is "Brush and clean in between to build a healthy smile"
The Whitin Community Center & Blackstone Valley Children's Place reminds parents that their children can avoid cavities. Brushing your teeth twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between your teeth daily, eating a healthy diet that limits sugary beverage and snacks, and seeing your dentist regularly for prevention and treatment of oral disease are the keys to a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums.
